Handicrafts Guild

TSpindles and Woolhe Handicrafts Guild is for members who enjoy crafts such as knitting, sewing, quilting, and other various hand made craft projects. Inweorces, meaning “indoor work”, is the focus of this guild and so we study and practice the traditional cræft of the hearth and home. By learning the skills to make things on your own, as our ancestors did, you can better emphasize the ethic of bisignes. Membership is open to any gesiþ.

Mission Statement: 

The purpose of the Inweorc Gildscipe is to foster the knowledge and practice of traditional household crafts including, but not limited to; spinning, weaving, embroidery, soap making, candle making, etc.

Craft Ideas for Geol

For the upcoming Geol Heahtid, here are some projects for you and your children to have fun with.

Glass Ornaments

 

You’ll need:

  • glass ball ornaments(found at your local craft shop)
  • potpourrie
  • ribbons
  • confetti

 

Take a glass ball and fill it with the potpourri and/or confetti. Tie a ribbon to the top of the ornament and form a loop or bow. You can also fill the ornaments with miniature figurines.
